The Summer season for Junior & Senior Basketball is about to start!
We are very lucky to have the Moama Bowling Club as our principle partner for the Junior Domestic Season.
Season starts week of Monday 4th May 2026
Semi Finals week of Monday 31st August 2026
Grand Finals week of Monday 7th September 2026
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
COACHING
We thank everyone that has put their hand up as a volunteer to coach a team.. It is very important that we have Coaches for our teams to ensure that all the players get on the court and are given the best opportunity to have fun. You do not have to have any experience, we just need upbeat, bubbly people making sure our kids on the court are having fun and have big smiles on their faces! All coaches must have a valid Working with Children Check.
REGISTRATION CAPACITY - WAITING LIST
What we do if the competition reaches capacity? Athletes can be added to the waiting list via the following link only. Please do not comment on this post or DM the page to add your child to the waiting list:
JUNIOR UNIFORM
Singlets supplied by Echuca Moama Basketball Association when a $20 bond is paid (Round 1). Singlets are returned at end of season and bond refunded. ALL players must have black basketball shorts (no pockets). Points will be deducted for all players out of uniform from Week 3. Pirates Shorts are NOT to be worn.
SENIOR UNIFORM
ALL players must have the same uniform. This includes short. NO POCKETS in shorts, no football shorts or lycra shorts. Teams will be given a grace period of they have ordered uniforms and have not arrived but must be approved by the committee.
SCORERS
We rely on parents/guardians/supporters to assist us with scoring each week. Without the scorers games are unable to take place. Please support the committee by helping out scoring. If you need assistance in learning please feel free to speak to a committee member.
VOLUNTEERING
If you would like to know how you can assist us at Echuca Moama Basketball Association, please feel free to have a chat to one of the committee members. We rely on volunteers to make this Basketball Association the best one! It could be helping in the canteen, helping with distributing uniforms or being a presence for games. Let us know.
REFEREES
We run with a Zero tolerance for abuse and bad behaviour here at Echuca Moama Basketball Association. Without the refs there woudl be no games. You will see some of our referees with green shirts - this means they are still learning how to referee a game. Green whistles/laynards mean that the referee is Under 18s years of age.
The committee and Referee Convenor Justin Voss take abuse against referees very seriously.
UNDER 12’S BOYS AND GIRLS
ALL Under 12 age groups will have the following:
• 17 min halves
• 10 mins for half time for coaches to help players develop their skills. Referees will also be there to assist with teaching skills. If you need any drills please see a committee member.
We are hoping that this will be a positive move in our younger domestic kids and start to get them skilled up to play domestic and maybe representative basketball.
All other age groups - 2 x 20min halves
Please note, once JUNIORS you have registered and have been allocated to a team by the EMBA, you will be asked to register your child to their team. This will ensure that their name will come up on PlayHQ each week for scoring. Please remember that the first three weeks are grading and changes WILL BE MADE to junior teams during this team to ensure a competetive and fair competition.
