Echuca Moama Basketball Association (EMBA)
The Echuca Moama Basketball Association (EMBA) invites Expressions of Interest from experienced and passionate individuals for Head Coach positions for our Country Basketball League (CBL) Men’s and Women’s teams for the 2025/2026 season.
About the CBL Program
The Echuca Pirates CBL program represents the senior representative arm of EMBA, offering a competitive and development-focused environment for athletes at a senior levels. The program is designed to maintain strong links to the local basketball community while showcasing the best of regional talent.
We are committed to fostering a culture of excellence, leadership, and respect both on and off the court, in alignment with Basketball Victoria’s Code of Conduct and EMBA’s values.

Coaching Positions Available
We are seeking expressions of interest for the following voluntary roles for both Men's and Women’s teams:
- Head Coach – CBL Men’s
- Head Coach – CBL Women’s
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver training plans aligned with EMBA’s code of conduct
- Support athlete development in technical, tactical, and leadership skills
- Establish a high-performance culture
- Attend and lead up to two training sessions per week beginning in August and attend all CBL games (home and away from October to December)
- Actively mentor athletes and promote positive behaviour and engagement during trainings and games
- Engage positively with athletes, EMBA committee and officials, and the broader community
- Uphold and role model the EMBA and Basketball Victoria Codes of Conduct
Requirements & Qualifications
Essential:
- Availability for all training sessions and fixtures
- Strong communication, leadership, and mentoring skills
- Current Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Willingness to sign and uphold the EMBA Coaches’ Code of Conduct
- Participation in a formal interview and selection process
Coaching Accreditation:
- Head Coaches: Minimum Club Coach accreditation
- Applicants without accreditation may still apply but must be willing to complete the necessary certification prior to the season starting
Selection Process
Applications will be reviewed by the EMBA-appointed CBL Selection Panel. Interviews will be held in due course.
